Freedom

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high ;

Where knowledge is free ;

Where the world has not been broken up into fragments of narrow domestic walls ;

Where words come out from the depth of truth ;

Where tireless striving stretches its hands towards perfection ;

Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the drearydesert sand of dead habit ;

Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action ;

Into that heaven of freedom,

my Father, let my country awake.

ભાવાનુવાદ – મનોજ શુક્લ

સ્વાતંત્ર્ય

જ્યાં

નિર્ભય મન હો ઊન્નત મસ્તક, જ્ઞાન તણી હો મુક્તિઃ
જ્યાં

જગ ના વ્હેરાતું હો વ્હેવારૂ પતલી દીવાલેઃ

જ્યાં

શબ્દનું ઉદભવવું બનતું હો સાચના ઊંડા તળથી;

જ્યાં

અથક અવિચલ શ્રમ હાથોને પૂર્ણ કળા છે બક્ષે;

જ્યાં

મ્રુત આદતના સુક્કા રણમાં તર્કબુદ્ધિ ના ભટકે;

જ્યાં

ઈશ્વર અમ બુદ્ધિ-કર્મોને વિશાળતા લગ દોરે;

સ્વતંત્રતાના તે સ્વર્ગે મુજ દેશના ચક્ષુ ખોલો,

ઈશ્વર, દેશના ચક્ષુ ખોલો.
